The National Voluntary Guidelines for Landside Stevedore Charges establish clear protocols for how price changes are communicated. The Guidelines cover both new landside charges and increases to existing charges levied by stevedores on land transport operators accessing Australian ports and handling containerised cargo. By improving transparency and consistency across the supply chain, the Guidelines support fairer and more predictable pricing, improved efficiency and reduced costs for land transport operators.

Heavy vehicle charges help fund the building and maintenance of Australia’s roads by recovering the cost of wear and tear from vehicles using them. Australia’s transport ministers agreed to progress a preferred increase of 6 per cent to heavy vehicle charges for 2026-27, and have asked the NTC to undertake public consultation on the proposed increase. Feedback will be provided to ministers for their consideration.

These Standards support consistent and evidence-based medical assessments for driver licensing across Australia. They support medical decisions based upon an individual’s capacity to drive, not solely on an underlying medical condition.
