Who we are and what we do

We are a national transport reform agency that works with all Australian governments to advance social and economic outcomes through an efficient, integrated and nationally consistent land transport system.

Our unique role is to:

  • develop and propose nationally-consistent land transport reforms
  • monitor, maintain, amend and review national and model laws, and other instruments (e.g. codes and guidelines).

The NTC office is located in Melbourne and employs around 40 staff. We are jointly funded by Commonwealth, state and territory governments.
